Using the standard is free

Grading devices to UGP, showing UGP grade names, codes and tests, and implementing the core code, schema and grading logic in any product, including commercial products, are free and need no permission. §17.2

Quoting and summarising

Quoting a passage with the credit line, and writing your own summary or guide that refers to UGP sections, are ordinary uses. Publishing an edited, extended or translated version of the text itself is a modified version and needs the steward's agreement, as does publishing anything under the UGP name that changes a definition. §17.5

Names and badges

The licence does not grant rights in names, logos or badges (CC BY-ND 4.0 §2(b)(2)). Their use is governed by the name and badge policy. §17.3

No warranty

The standard is provided as is. Each grader or seller is responsible for its own records and claims. §17.4
