Privacy notice

What devicegrading.com collects through its comment and proposal forms, Ask AI and page feedback, why, who processes it and how long it is kept.

This notice covers devicegrading.com: the comment and proposal forms, implementer listing requests, Ask AI, "Was this page helpful?" and site analytics. It takes effect on October 24, 2026.

Who is responsible: Device Supply, 1855 Ness Ave Unit 4, Winnipeg, MB R3J 0Y5, Canada, the steward of UGP.

Privacy officer: Kyle Jagassar, ugp@devicegrading.com.

Reading the site

Reading the site needs no account and sets no cookies. Visits are counted with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookieless and does not identify you. Your theme choice (light, dark or system) is kept in your own browser only.

Comments and proposals

What we collect: the section, type, title and text of your comment or proposal; any links and evidence files you attach (up to 5 files, 20 MB each); your name; your organisation, if you give one; your email address; and your choices about credit, confidentiality and the licence consent.

Why: to consider your comment or proposal, to ask you about it, to tell you the decision, and, if you choose, to credit you in the contributors list. Comments and proposals shape the standard, which is published under its licence.

What is published:

ItemPublished?
The reference and status of your submissionYes, on its tracking page
The text of your comment or proposalOnly once the steward marks it public; a confidential one only in summary, without your name
Your nameOnly if you ask to be credited
Your email address and organisationNever
Your evidence filesNever

Bot check: the forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to check that a person, not a bot, is submitting. Turnstile processes technical information about your browser for that check.

How long: your email address and your evidence files are deleted 12 months after the decision on your submission is published (for a comment on a draft, the disposition table). The text of a submission, once published, stays part of the public record of the standard.

Ask AI

Ask AI answers questions about UGP from the text of the standard. Your question, and the previous question and answer in the same conversation, are sent to Anthropic, whose Claude model writes the answer.

  • We do not store your IP address, set cookies, or link a question to you. To limit abuse, requests are counted per network address using a one-way code that changes every day.
  • To improve the FAQ, we keep a shortened copy of each question (at most 300 characters, with email addresses, phone numbers and 15-digit IMEI or serial numbers removed) together with usage figures, for about 3 months.
  • Please do not type personal information into a question.

Answers are informative, not normative, and can contain mistakes; the specification governs.

Page feedback

"Was this page helpful?" records the page and your yes or no answer, and nothing about you.
