Public comment
UGP v1.0 is open for comment for 30 days. How to comment, what is especially open, what is settled, and what happens to your comment.
How to comment
- On a page: while the period is open, a comment marker appears beside each heading. It opens the comment form with the section filled in.
- Anywhere: use Propose a change and pick the section, or email the address on the Contact page.
A useful comment gives:
- the section or table cell;
- the change you propose, as text;
- the reason;
- any evidence: inspection data, photos, buyer or return data.
Public or in confidence
You can comment publicly or in confidence. Confidential comments are published only in summary, without your name. Your email address is never published. See the privacy notice.
What is especially open
- The provisional tolerance counts in §5.5, including the tablet multiplier.
- The arm's-length test wording in §11.2.
- The fault lexicon severities in Annex A.
- The charge-hold test parameters in §8.4.
- The priority order of the profile packs in §16.
What is settled
These are not reopened except for errors:
- the grade structure (NS, OB, A–D);
- the principle that a grade requires a resale-ready device;
- the separation of grade and status;
- the 80% battery rule.
What happens next
After the period closes, the steward publishes a table of every comment received (anonymised where asked), its decision and the reason, together with v1.0 final. Changes between the draft and the final are marked in the final. A grade issued under the draft stays valid, and records can be regraded from their stored raw data under the final. §19.5
Decisions are logged in Decisions.
