Device-class profiles
The Phone and Tablet profiles, and the profile packs to come.

16.1 Phone profile (normative)
Zones:
- AA: the display and every camera lens cover
- A: the front surface excluding the display, plus the front sensor and fingerprint areas
- B: back, sides, buttons, SIM tray, logos, ports area, mesh and visible screws
- C: connectors and contacts
See Figure 1.
Key functions (a failure is FK):
- powers on and off;
- display shows an image;
- touch;
- SIM detected (cellular models);
- calls with working earpiece and microphone;
- charges.
Secondary functions (a failure is FM or FJ, per Annex A):
- speakers;
- every camera and the flash;
- Face ID / Touch ID / fingerprint;
- buttons and switches;
- proximity, light and motion sensors;
- vibration;
- Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and NFC;
- wireless charging where fitted;
- headset jack where fitted.
Display faults:
- 1–3 dead pixels: DSP-01, minor;
- more than 3 dead pixels, or a dead line: DSP-02, major;
- burn-in visible on a grey screen: DSP-03, major.
Tracked parts: battery, display, rear camera(s), front camera, logic board.
Kit components: box, charging cable, documentation and SIM tool where originally supplied, plus any other item the manufacturer shipped.
Battery: the operating system's health reading (measured), a diagnostic tool reading (measured), or a declaration (declared).
Photo capture list (V1):
- front (screen off, then screen on white);
- back;
- each side;
- top and bottom;
- AA at 45°;
- a close-up of every defect at S3 or above;
- the IMEI screen.
