Provisional

The counts are provisional in the public comment draft and open for comment with inspection data. Records carry tolerance_table: "phone-1.0-provisional"; raw defects are stored, so grades recompute without re-inspection. On a tablet, every count is × 1.5, rounded down. §5.5

S4 is a scratch beyond S3 in any dimension, which a fingernail catches and stops on; CH2 is a chip over 1 mm; DN3 is a dent over 3 mm, allowed only if fit and seal are unaffected. §5.1 · §5.2

Never cracked

A crack anywhere, a missing external part or a triggered liquid-damage indicator is never permitted in any grade. Such a device has status Repair, however good the rest of it looks. A device worn beyond Acceptable, with no crack, has cosmetic value K or E and no grade either. §5.5 · §11.1

Guarantees and disclosures

Every Acceptable device:

  • is fully functional (FF);
  • has no cracks and no triggered liquid indicator;
  • holds at least 80% battery health, measured or declared;

§11.3

Shown with the grade when they apply: a carrier lock with the carrier's name, each non-genuine part by name, a kit that is not full, and the battery basis (a measured percentage or "declared"). §11.4
