Console, handheld and controller

PDF

The console, handheld and controller profile pack is not published yet. Until it is, game consoles, handhelds and controllers are graded only on UGP's generic axes, as provisional records.

Profile pack to come. This page will hold the console, handheld and controller profile once the pack is published. Nothing here is a requirement yet.

Status in v1.0

The console, handheld and controller profile (CON, CNH, CNX and CTL in a core code) is listed in v1.0 as a profile pack to come. §16

Until the pack is published, a device in this class may be graded only for the axes UGP defines generically, and its record carries profile_status: "provisional". §1.2

What the pack will define

From the §16 table: analogue-stick drift (JOY); the disc drive (DSC); console service bans (LCK-04); and thermal faults (THM). The fault codes it will use are already in the fault lexicon.

A profile pack carries its own version and the core version it depends on, and is released as a MINOR version. §18.2 · §18.3

Help shape it

The priority order of the profile packs is open for comment during the public comment period. Inspection data, fault lists and kit lists for game consoles, handhelds and controllers are welcome through Propose a change (type "New profile pack"). §19.3
